Massage with Ayurvedic oils based on patient need – either full body or partial body for the purpose of relaxation, improved circulation, detoxification, pain management.      

Marma Abhyanga

Massage with warm Ayurvedic oils chosen on the basis of the client individual profile – focussing on re-balancing the relevant body energy points (marmas), in order to rebalance and release blockages in the body and detoxify the system.  

Post-natal Abhyanga

A specialised Ayurvedic massage using specially infused herbal oils followed by fomentation to relieve the strain, sleeplessness and pressure experienced by a mother during labour. Massage with an adequate pressure helps to relax strained muscles, increases blood circulation and lactation, induces good sleep and lightens stretch marks.  

Prishta Abhyanga

Upper/lower back massage with warm Ayurvedic oils chosen on the basis of the client individual profile. Ideal for relieving tension and muscle stiffness in the back. 

Ache-relieving Oil Application & Abhyanga

Topical oil application and local massage with warm Ayurvedic oils, very effective in reducing inflammation and relieving pain and stiffness from joints, bones and muscles. 

Sports and post-workout Abhyanga

Ideal to relieve muscle and ligaments aches and strains following sports activities and gym work-outs. The warm oil application and specific technique used for the topical massage increases blood circulation around the affected areas and improves muscle fibre repair.

Podi Khizi (Herbal Powder Massage)

Performed with herbal powders and oils, selected based on the client individual profile. The warm herbal bolus is gently massaged on different parts of the body in order to relieve muscle and joints aches and pains whilst, at the same time, detoxifying the body.

Ela Khizi

Herbal poultices are prepared with various herbs and medicated oils. The body is massaged with these poultices after they are warmed in medicated oils. This promotes circulation and increases perspiration, which in turn help the skin eliminate the wastes there by improving skin tone.

Pizhichil

This therapy is a combination of two Ayurvedic treatments, Snehana (oleation) and Svedana (sudation). The whole body is bathed in streams of lukewarm Ayurvedic medicated oil with simultaneous soft massage. Pizhichil protects the body from illnesses and builds up immunity for a healthy life.

Shirodhara

Involves running a fine stream of warm liquid (oil or medicated milk or medicated water) on the forehead. It is particularly effective for issues that are connected with the eye, nose, nervous system, head, neck as well as relieving stress and anxiety.

Netra Tarpana

This treatment involves bathing the eyes with medicated oils in order to treat eye fatigue and other eye issues.

Svedana

In this treatment the person receives herb-infused or simple steam to encourage the natural body process of releasing accumulated toxins through sweat.

Greeva and Janu Basti

A warm herbal oil is poured over either the back of the neck or the knee (depending on the patient need) and retained inside a dam made out of dough. The hot medicated oils helps melt joint rigidity and strengthen the bone tissue. 

Nasya

This treatment aims to clear the channels in the head and neck. It involves cleaning out the nose with medicated powders or liquids.

Kati Basti

A warm herbal oil is poured over the lumbosacral area and retained inside a dam made out of dough. The hot medicated oils helps melt lower spine rigidity and strengthen the bone tissue. This therapy relieves chronic lower backaches and painful muscle spasms, stiffness, sciatica, lumbar spondylosis and degenerative problems. 

Shiro Basti

A warm herbal oil is poured over the head and retained inside a specific cap. The hot medicated oils helps relieve stress, insomnia and other nervous system conditions. 

Panchakarma

This is the Ayurvedic term to describe a treatment of detoxification, re-balancing and rejuvenation of the body that involves 3 key steps:

 
  1. Preparation of the body through the ingestion of herbal supplements/oils/medicated ghee and a course of massage based treatments (e.g. pizhichil, abhyanga) in order to loosen and mobilise accumulated toxins.

  2. Cleansing of toxins – through purgation using herbal powders/oils, oil based enemas, sudation (sweating).

  3. Nourishing the body after detox, through the most appropriate herbal supplements, nutrition advice and
    massage based techniques, e.g. Njavarakizhi.
